Welcome to Riff, a guitar learning app created by Raze Labs, LLC (“Raze Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Riff mobile application or related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
Riff helps you learn songs on the guitar. The Service generates chord charts and synchronized lyrics for songs you choose, and lets you play along with timed chord and lyric playback. You can choose songs by submitting links from supported video platforms, identifying a song using your microphone, or uploading a video from your camera roll. Riff also includes an in-app guitar tuner.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, to create a Riff account. For users in the European Union, you must be at least 16 years old unless a lower age is permitted by local law.
You are responsible for:
You retain all rights to the links, videos, audio captures, and other content you submit to the Service (“Inputs”). By submitting Inputs, you grant Raze Labs a worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit the Inputs solely to operate and provide the Service.
You are solely responsible for the content you submit. By submitting any Input, you represent and warrant that you have all rights, licenses, consents, and permissions necessary to do so, and that your Input does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any third party.
You agree not to submit Inputs that:
Chord charts and synchronized lyrics produced by the Service (“Outputs”) are generated by AI models and may be influenced by model limitations, the quality of the source audio, and your inputs. Outputs are intended for personal educational and entertainment use only. To the extent we hold any rights in the Outputs we generate for you, Raze Labs assigns those rights to you, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
AI-generated chord charts and lyrics may not always match the original recording exactly and may contain errors, missing sections, or unexpected results. Riff is provided as a learning aid and not as an authoritative transcription.
Riff maintains a community catalog of chord charts so users can discover and play along with songs other users have generated. By submitting a link from a public video platform and generating a chart from it, you understand and agree that the resulting chord chart and associated metadata may be added to this shared catalog and made available to other Riff users.
Charts produced from videos you upload from your camera roll are kept private to your account and are not added to the shared catalog or made visible to other users.
If you believe content available through Riff infringes your rights or otherwise violates these Terms, contact us at ian@razelabs.app with sufficient detail to identify the content. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Generation and playback features in Riff require an active Riff Pro subscription. The Service displays the available plan, price, and any introductory offer before you subscribe.
Your Riff Pro subscription will continue and automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled. You consent to Apple charging your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
We may offer a free trial to eligible new subscribers. Eligibility for free trials is determined by Apple. Unless canceled before the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the price displayed at sign-up.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings:
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. All purchases are non-refundable except as required by law or by Apple's refund policy.
All purchases are made through the Apple App Store and are billed by Apple subject to their terms and conditions. We do not process payments directly.
Refund requests for App Store purchases must be submitted directly to Apple. If you have billing questions, you can also contact us at ian@razelabs.app.
We may, from time to time, change the subscription price, plan structure, or features included with a subscription. We will communicate any material changes in accordance with applicable law and through the App Store where required.
Our collection, use, and sharing of personal information are described in the Riff Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described there.
We aim to keep Riff running smoothly but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, and unforeseen outages may occur. We may release updates that change how features work, modify the catalog, or adjust pricing and plan structure. Some updates may be required to continue using the Service. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by your inability to access the Service during downtime.
Riff relies on third-party services to operate, including:
Your use of the Service is also subject to Apple's terms and conditions for the App Store. We are not responsible for third-party service availability, behavior, or outages, and such events do not entitle you to refunds or credits beyond what applicable law or Apple's refund policy requires.
Riff, including its software, visual identity, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by Raze Labs or its licensors. Except for the rights expressly granted in these Terms, we reserve all rights, title, and interest in the Service. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Service, nor may you remove proprietary notices.
You may not use the Service or any content within it (including chord charts in the catalog) for commercial purposes, including resale, redistribution, or building a competing product, without our prior written permission.
You agree to:
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. RAZE LABS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE ACCURATE, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR UNINTERRUPTED. AI-GENERATED CHORD CHARTS AND LYRICS MAY CONTAIN ERRORS OR UNEXPECTED RESULTS. YOU ASSUME ALL RISK FOR USE OF THE SERVICE AND THE OUTPUTS IT PRODUCES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RAZE LABS AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO RAZE LABS FOR THE SERVICE DURING THAT PERIOD.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Raze Labs and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to your Inputs, your use of the Outputs, or your breach of these Terms — including any claim that an Input you submitted infringed a third party's rights.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, applicable laws, or our usage policies.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings. You may delete your account and associated personal data at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the app, or by emailing ian@razelabs.app.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including Sections 5, 10, 12, 13, and 14.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The parties agree to exclusive jurisdiction in the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington, USA. Where prohibited by law, mandatory consumer protection rights supersede this clause.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, technology, regulations, or our business. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
