Canon Privacy Policy

What we collect

An anonymous identifier for your install. Canon does not ask for your name, email, or a password. Instead the app creates a random identifier the first time it runs and uses it to keep your worlds together. It stays in your device's secure storage and can carry over through your Apple account if you switch phones. It is not your name and we cannot use it to find out who you are.

Your age. You enter your age when you set up the app. We use it to confirm you are old enough to use Canon.

What you create. Posts, replies, messages, choices you make in events, the name and bio you give your character, and any photos you attach. Canon needs these to generate the story around you and to show your worlds back to you.

Subscription status. Whether you have an active Canon Pro subscription and when it renews or ends. This comes from Apple, through the service we use to manage subscriptions. We never see your payment details.

A notification token, if you turn notifications on, so the app can tell you when a character has written to you.

Diagnostics. Basic technical information such as your device type, app version, and error reports, so we can fix problems. We also keep a record of what people search for in the catalog, without tying it to anyone, to decide which worlds to make next.

How we use it

• To run Canon: to build your worlds, generate the responses in them, and remember your progress.
• To provide Canon Pro and confirm what you are entitled to.
• To send you the notifications you asked for.
• To fix problems, keep the service secure, and improve the app.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Artificial intelligence

The characters in Canon are powered by artificial intelligence. To generate their responses, what you write inside a world, along with any photos you attach, is sent to service providers that run AI models on our behalf. They receive only what is needed to produce a response. We do not send them your identifier, your age, or your subscription information.

Your worlds are private. Other people who use Canon cannot see what you write.

Who we share information with

• Service providers that help us run Canon: hosting, subscription management, notifications, and the AI providers described above. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
• Apple, which handles purchases and app distribution under its own privacy policy.
• When the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of Raze Labs, our users, or the public.
• If Raze Labs is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be part of what transfers. We would post notice before a different privacy policy applied.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you use Canon, so your worlds are there when you come back. You can ask us to delete everything tied to your install at any time by emailing us with the App ID shown in the app's Settings. We may keep limited records of purchases where the law or our obligations to Apple require it.

Children

Canon is for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used Canon, email us and we will delete the information.

Your choices and rights

• Notifications can be turned off at any time in your device's Settings.
• Photos are attached only when you choose to attach them.
• Deletion. Email us with your App ID and we will delete your information.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your information. Email us and we will help.

Where your information is processed

Canon is operated from the United States, and your information is processed there. If you use Canon from somewhere else, your information is transferred to the United States.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version at this address and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Canon after a change means you accept the new policy.
